R. SKY Palkowitz, is an avid educator. Sky has taught acting, improvisation, commercial techniques, Shakespeare, storytelling, voice, musical theatre, the art of auditioning, and many other art related classes and workshops to children and adults all across our nation. She taught with Imagination Theatre in Chicago, in after school programs with Pasadena Junior Theatre, various high schools with Performing Arts, and has toured nationally with The National Theatre for Children, as well as freelanced and coached privately for over 20 years.
Sky holds a Master’s Degree in Acting from the University of Iowa, where she taught Acting to undergraduates from 1994-1997, performed professionally in Iowa Summer Repertory Theatre, directed plays, and created unique interdisciplinary performances. Before that, Sky was part of the Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP) at the University of Delaware, a graduate conservatory focused on Shakespeare and the classics.
Sky studied Avant-Garde Performance with the infamous Rachel Rosenthal for 8 years, and incorporates many of her teachings into versatile and custom designed workshops for colleges and universities around the country. Private coaching sessions available, as well as group workshops.
